Confession

I have a confession on this Harry Potter final book day:

I've never read any of the Harry Potter books. Seen the movies, never read the books.

I also ran into a UPS delivery lady today and she said they are ONLY delivering Harry Potter books today. I thought that was a little extreme.

I never have either, Meg!! I was just telling my husband last night however that even though it's a little extreme and crazy, that it's pretty cool it's all over a book!

On one hand, I think it's a bit extreme, but on the other, I know that back when I was a kid I would have been so over-the-top delighted that an author had that much material in her head to dedicate so many pages to the same set of characters, so as to keep me reading her books for years. I don't know about staying up till midnight and dressing-up for the book, though...

By the way, congratulations on your wedding!

I read the first book after it had been out a few years. I didn't get into. I must confess that I never felt the hype so that was the extent of my Harry Potter experience. I think it is crazy, but at least it has kids reading which I think is great.

Me either.

Never read one, never saw one of the movies, don't think I'm missin' much.

Thanks guys! It's good to know I'm not alone here! It seems all of my friends love HP and think I'm the crazy one for never reading any of them!

You know from my blog...that I completely disagree with you nuts! Come on! Its Harry! I did stay up until midnight to read book 7 AND stayed up all night to read it in 8 hours! Okay, maybe I am the nut! At least my main excuse is that I am a teacher and have been inspired by my students (well to read the first book, after that my own obsessive enjoyment of children's literature kicked in). -S

PS-Is this post in reponse to all of my Harry craziness on my blog? Hmm....
