This time the gauge will be juuusst right

A little over a year ago I started the Toe Jazz socks from Fiber Trends. I was using a size 0 needle and between the insy-bitsy needle and all the cables and ribbing, it was so damn tight. So I threw it into the craft closet to think about what it had done for a while. After finishing Matt's socks the other day, I decided it was time to pull them out and take another stab at them. So I ripped 'em out and started over on size two's. Those were way to loose. Ripped 'em out again. Last night I recast on with size ones. So far, so good. But it might be too early to tell. I'll have to keep pluggin' along and see where the yarn takes me.

I have no photos to accompany this as I'm blogging from Boise for an unexpected trip back home. However, I am getting lots of creative juices flowing as I'm checking out all the new fun quilting stuff my mother is working on. She's currently taken over the dinning room (much to my father's dismay) as yet the third room in the house with quilt projects. Stay tuned for pictures later.

I would love to make a quilt, but I already have so much yarn laying around that Jai would strangle me if I started to leave little squares of fabric all over. I am acutally going to take over the poker table on the 3rd floor for some sewing projects. You have inspired me to get my machine back out with all your cool sewing projects.
Doesn't it make you crazy to have to keep starting over on projects. I have a pattern for a purse that I have started probably 10 times and can't get it right. Oh well.

I feel your pain! I'm trying to work on the second sock of the first pair. Keep on going!

You know what they say...3rd times the charm, right!

Now I am totally obsessed with that Harry Potter quilt you showed...where can I see more of that? I must attempt to make my own (ha ha...that sounds so crazy since I do nothing right now...but I am going to start looking for a sewing machine on Craig's list as a graduation present). I am inspired...thanks Meg! -S
