A birthday for the record books

Today is my birthday. I love having a birthday in July. As a kid, it always meant swimming parties and sleep overs under the stars.

As an adult it means margaritas with loved ones on a lovely patio somewhere.

But today, it means finding air conditioning. Because today is a record breaking day here in Seattle, quite literally. It's 4:20 pm and it's 102 at Sea Tac Airport. That may be not that bad to some people, but here in the Pacific Northwest where many (including yours truly) don't have air conditioning, well, it's f*%$&^% hot!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find a happy hour in a lovely air conditioned bar before meeting the hubby for my dinner date tonight.

Stay cool people. Stay cool.

Augh! I heard about the heat wave, knew it was your birthday and wondered if you were like me (who HATES the heat) or my Mom (who loves it). I figured, since we have so much in common, you'd tend toward my side of things...and I was right.

Hope the happy hour was just that...that your dinner with hubby was delicious...and that this coming year is full of all your favorite things.

Happy Birthday, Meg!

Glad to hear you were able to go out. I don't think you are a wimp about the heat that sounds awful without air conditioning. I would not be a happy camper in those conditions - and I love the heat!!

Mother Nature is just trying to remind you about all your birthdays in 100-plus weather in Idaho!!! Of course, most of us have air conditioning around here. :-)

Happy Birthday Meg! Hope you had a fun night out!

People here don't think it can be that bad because it isn't humid there. I am quick to tell them that when it is 100+ degrees it is DANG hot even if it isn't humid!!!

BTW, I would kill for a margarita right now!!! Have one for me and stay cool!!
